Home Learning
This new โHome Learningโ section on our class page will help us to stay connected whilst school is closed due to COVID-19 and give you and your families help and advice in supporting your learning at home.
We have been busy developing a way to give guidance on learning and activities that can be done at home which will be useful rather than overwhelming during these strange times. We have created weekly home learning grids for each class which suggest activities for English, Maths, the wider curriculum and family fun.
The idea is that children choose one activity from each section to complete per day so they will be doing four of these activities daily. These home learning grids will be uploaded onto our website (in ‘Our Classes’ section) for each class every Monday by 11am.
We understand that everyone is living through their own challenges at this time and that life is difficult right now. Your own and your children’s mental health and wellbeing is and always will be the priority so we hope these grids are a help rather than a hindrance. We know you will be trying your best to support children’s learning but it is such a surreal situation to be in so we really hope these grids give a little guidance and structure to your efforts. The activities are by no means exhaustive but we feel they will be useful in giving children some motivation and purpose to their home learning.
Donโt forget to read every day and check out our list of useful websites and the government has launched their BBC Bitesize channel today (which you can watch via BBC iPlayer -search Bitesize- or by pressing the red button on your remote when watching BBC1) which has a range of activities, games and quizzes for each year group if children would like to do any extra tasks or activities.
Please let us know if you have any feedback on our home learning grids- this is new to us too!

School Learning
We had a fabulous morning on Tuesday when we had a PE session led by a PE coach. We explored different ways of moving, walking backwards was difficult but very funny!
We have all enjoyed making cups of tea. We observed the change in colour as we added more milk to our tea.

Hall Hill Farm
We had a fabulous day at Hall Hill farm. We enjoyed feeding all of the animals and we were very brave! We learned about why animals have the characteristics that they have and how to care for the animals. After we visited the animals and had lunch, we had a ride on the trailer that was attached to a tractor, it was so much fun!
Fairy garden
We have loved our new resources in the small world area outside. We have set one of the spaces up as a fairy garden and we hope that the fairies might visit us through the night!
Royal wedding
To celebrate the Royal Wedding, we baked a three-tier wedding cake. We looked at previous royal weddings and we talked about what we thought Meganโs dress might look like. On Monday, we were so excited to talk about the wedding that we saw on our televisions.
Chinese New Year
We looked at how Chinese New Year is celebrated, we tasted some stir-fry and prawn crackers and did our very own dragon dance in the school hall.
Painting
We can mix our own powder paints to explore how colours can be changed!
Finger Gym
Our new โfinger gymโ is lots of fun, it also strengthens our fingers to help us with our writing and mark making.
Fun in the Snow!
We were so excited when we saw the snow falling! We put on our own coats and wellies and enjoyed playing in the crunching snow.
Winter Experiments
We loved looking at the ice that we had found in the garden so we decided to fill buckets up with lots of interesting things to see what happened when we left them over night. Unfortunately, the weather turned warmer and we didnโt see much change so we decided to put some paint in the freezer instead!
Polar Express Day
We were all very excited to come into nursery in our pyjamas. When we arrived at nursery, we found out that fairies had visited and left us with the busy job of decorating the nursery. We watched some of the Polar Express on the computer and made cookies, which we ate at the end of the day with a delicious cup of hot chocolate.
