How we evaluate the effectiveness of SEN Provision

We continuously ensure the provision has a positive impact on the outcomes for all of our children/young people. We do this in a variety of ways, including:

  • robust evaluation of policy and practice;
  • book scrutiny;
  • lesson/intervention observations;
  • SENCO/SLT/governor monitoring;
  • learning walks;
  • analysis of data for English, maths & reading;
  • analysis of data for successful outcomes on support plans;
  • pupil progress meetings;
  • whole school audits of provision;
  • staff meetings and briefings;
  • discussions with parents and children;
  • parent and pupil questionnaires;
  • SENCO network and cluster meetings; and
  • performance management; and liaison with local authority SEND team.
